Alexander McQueen Armadillo Shoe Ornament — The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2011
This sculptural ornament recreates Alexander McQueen’s iconic Armadillo boot from the Spring/Summer 2010 Plato’s Atlantis collection — the same silhouette that redefined fashion history and cemented McQueen’s place in the cultural canon.
Released exclusively through the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the Savage Beauty exhibition in August 2011. Only a limited number were produced, and the edition sold out even before the exhibition ended. Over a decade later, it remains a coveted collector’s piece — a fragment of McQueen’s visionary world.
