A set of two runway pieces from Maison Martin Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection.
Crafted in fluid viscose rayon, the bandeau top and matching skirt reflect one of the collection’s central themes: garments reduced to fragments, shifted proportions, and silhouettes that appear suspended between presence and absence.
Both pieces feature the collection’s characteristic asymmetry, with high-low hems and elongated panels creating movement around the body. Similar constructions appeared throughout the runway collection, where individual pieces were worn interchangeably as bandeau tops, micro skirts and belt skirts.
The set captures the subtle experimentation that defined Martin Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection.
