Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh Meteor Shower boots from the Spring/Summer 2020 “Meteor Strike” collection, crafted in smooth black leather and made in Italy.

One of the collection’s most distinctive designs, the boots feature a sharply pointed toe and sculptural wedge heel punctured by circular cut-outs of varying sizes. Inspired by the irregular craters left by meteor strikes, the perforations formed a recurring visual language throughout the SS20 collection, appearing across garments, accessories and footwear.

The circular openings transform an otherwise classic leather boot into an architectural object, extending through both the shaft and wedge heel and revealing glimpses of the foot beneath. The construction reflects Abloh’s characteristic approach of taking familiar forms and disrupting them through unexpected interventions.

A particularly recognisable piece from Virgil Abloh’s tenure at Off-White, combining Italian leather craftsmanship with the conceptual and industrial design language that defined the house under his direction.
